Themed collection № 1 · Japan
In Japan, a broken bowl isn't thrown away. It's repaired with gold — and treasured more for having been broken. This collection is about what holds us together.
金継ぎ · Kintsugi
Kintsugi is the centuries-old Japanese art of mending broken ceramics with lacquer and powdered gold. The repair is never hidden. The cracks become the most beautiful part of the piece — proof that it was cared for enough to be made whole again.
Every relationship carries its cracks — distance, time, a hard year. A gift, given with intent, is gold in those cracks. It says: this is worth repairing, worth keeping, worth celebrating. That's why Kintsugi opens our themed collections — it is what gifting means to us.
Each item is chosen to carry a piece of Japan: a Kintsugi-repair kit to mend something of your own, matcha for the ceremony of slowing down, a furoshiki wrapping cloth because in Japan the wrapping is part of the gift, and handmade sencha biscuits — because every good story ends with something sweet.
